If you’ve ever heard of Coachella, you’ll recognise it as the annual 3 day music and arts festival that takes place in California. It was here that Daft Punk chose to run a sneak preview trailer for their new album, “Random Access Memories”. Those at the festival said that “without warning”, a video lasting just under two-minutes was flashed around the festival on the monster screens around the venues stages.
The video features Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers and the Daft Punk robots rocking out in sparkly outfits. The song you can hear is “Get Lucky,” the main single from the new album. The Coachella crowd were lapping up the sneak preview as people started dancing around whilst grappling for their camera phones to capture the moment.
As you might know Random Access Memories, was made in near-total secrecy, it’s a huge release for the band and is massively anticipated by Daft Punk fans. All this is likely to mean that an announcement of tour dates is just around the corner.
